When my uncle was in high school, he and my great grandpa (a career body shop owner) got two Javelins from the junkyard - a '68 that was wrecked in front & a 69 that was wrecked in back (or was it the other way around?). Over the summer, they cut each of them in half and welded them together to make the one and only 1968 1/2 Javelin.

My uncle told all kinds of stories about him jumping it over railroad tracks and general "bad choices good times" stories. He ended up selling it to some older lady after a few years, whom he assumes used it for trips to the store and the like. It's probably long gone now.

I've loved these ever since I saw an Alabama State Trooper Javelin at a car show. They, to me, are still some of the coolest police cars ever. 401 equipped with a top speed of over 140, that's pretty good for an early 70's car.

Not my pic, but probably the same car.

They are nice, like a pointy 69 GT500.

Nice long lived example of an AMC Javelin. I'm biased to the old Mercury Cougar, But AMC did good while they were around.
